Cookies and data protection policy

Basel-Mulhouse Airport gives utmost importance to the protection of personal data and the privacy of its customers as well as any User of websites.
This cookies and personal data protection policy ("Policy") describes the types of personal data that Basel-Mulhouse Airport ("Airport") may be required to collect and the manner in which the Airport and its subcontractors may be required to use them.
All the operations on your personal data is carried out in compliance with current regulations including the Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended on data protection and, from 25 May 2018, Regulation No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data ("Rules ").
The User of any of the Airport’s websites acknowledges having read and accepted the terms of this Policy and Terms of Use of the site concerned. If the user disagrees with these terms, he is free to not use the websites and not provide any personal data.

ARTICLE 1 - DEFINITIONS

“Personal data” - any information relating to an individual identified or who can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identification number or to one or more elements specific to him.
"Processing of personal data” - any operation or set of operations performed or not performed using automated processes applied to data, such as the collection, recording, organisation, structuring, retention, adaptation or modification, retrieval, consultation, use, communication by transmission, dissemination or any other form of provision, reconciliation or interconnection, limitation, erasure or destruction.
"Data controller” - any individual or company, public authority, agency or other body that alone or jointly with others, collects and processes personal data.
"Recipients" - any individual or company, public authority, agency or other body that receives communication of personal data, whether from third parties or otherwise.
"Subcontractor"  - any individual or company, public authority, agency or other body that process personal data on behalf of the data controller.
 “Authorised third parties” - any individual or company, public authority, an agency or a body, placed under the direct authority of the data controller or the subcontractor, authorised to process personal data.

ARTICLE 2 - IDENTITY OF THE DATA CONTROLLER

The personal data are collected by Basel-Mulhouse Airport, a Franco-Swiss public establishment, whose headquarters is located in  BLOTZHEIM, [postal address: BP 60120, 68304 SAINT LOUIS CEDEX], registered under number 778 971 424 00016, represented by Mr Matthias Suhr, in his capacity as Director.

ARTICLE 3 - PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

As part of the operation of its websites, www.euroairport.com, https://businesscenter.euroairport.com and https://advantages.euroairport.com, the Airport collects your personal data. These data are processed in accordance with the purposes set out during the collection; the mandatory information is identified by an asterisk (*) in the collection form; the others are optional.
In particular, the Airport may be required to collect and use your personal data to access the features and services offered on our websites and ensure that your personal data is updated, correct and relevant, particularly for one or more of the following purposes:

Management of requests for information, documentation
Your credentials will allow us to process your request, for example:
  • your civil status (title, first name, last name, date of birth, postal address),
  • your contact information (fixed or mobile phone number, fax number, e-mail address),
  • correspondence by e-mail (the content of your e-mails, your address and any correspondence that may be sent to us)
  • the internal processing code allowing the identification of the customer.
The data recipients are the internal departments of the Airport and, where appropriate, its subcontractors.

Management of requests for assistance to people with reduced mobility
Your credentials will allow us to process your request for support, for example:
  • your civil status (title, first name, last name, address, email),
  • the nature of your disability (reduced mobility, visually impaired, hearing impaired, etc.)
  • the degree of assistance required
  • prior medical clearance
The data recipients are the internal departments of the Airport, the airlines and their subcontractors.

Management of applications
Your professional data (i.e. degrees, certificates, CVs, cover letters) allow us to process your application.
These data are exclusively for the internal departments of the Airport. Any communication of the data to an external entity (i.e. recruitment agency, temporary work agency) will depend on the prior consent of the person concerned.

Management of parking reservations
Your credentials will allow us to process your request for reservation of parking spaces, for example:
  • your civil status (title, first name, last name, address, email),
  • your contact information (billing address, e-mail address),
  • the recipient of the invoice
  • the contact details of a new user for billing purposes
The license plate number, fixed or mobile phone number, fax number are optional data that you may have to provide.
These data are exclusively for the internal departments of the Airport.

Loyalty program
Your data will enable us to manage your loyalty program membership, for example:
  • your civil status (title, first name, last name, address, email),
  • your contact information (billing address, e-mail address),

Subscriptions to newsletters
Your data will allow us to process your request, for example:
  • first name, last name, address, telephone number (fixed or mobile), fax number

Traffic statistics, for example: IP address, cookies, such as pages viewed by the user, the date and time of the browsing (see details on cookies below).

Furthermore, the Airport may need to collect personal data for other purposes, ensuring to take the consent of the persons concerned in a free, specific, informed and unequivocal manner, including electronically.

ARTICLE 4 - DATA RETENTION PERIOD

The airport will preserve your personal data in a secure environment for the duration necessary to serve the purposes for which it was collected or for the minimum retention period prescribed by the applicable laws, in particular in civil and commercial matters. Certain personal data may be retained by the Airport for longer periods exclusively for archival purposes, in the public interest, for scientific or historical research purposes or for statistical purposes.

ARTICLE 5 - RIGHTS OF INDIVIDUALS

In accordance with law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended and (EU) Regulation 2016/679 relating to protection of personal data, you have the following rights to your data: right of access, right of rectification, right to erase (right to oblivion), right to limitation of treatment, right to portability. You can also set guidelines for the retention, deletion and communication of your personal data after your death.
For legitimate reasons related to your particular situation, you may oppose the processing of your personal data.
To exercise your rights, please send your letter to: Legal Department, Basel-Mulhouse Airport, BP 60120, F-68304 Saint-Louis Cedex. Please attach a copy of a proof of identity. We advise you to send this letter by registered post with acknowledgment of receipt.
In the event of a breach of any of the above provisions, you have the right to file a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority - CNIL.

ARTICLE 6 - COMMUNICATION OF PERSONAL DATA

The personal data collected on this site are intended for the internal departments of the Airport. In the event that the Airport entrusts the data processing activities to subcontractors. It relies solely on subcontractors that provide adequate guarantees for the implementation of appropriate technical and organisational measures so that the processing meets the requirements of reliability and security required by the applicable regulations and guarantees the protection of rights of individuals.
The Airport may be required to transfer data to Switzerland, a country recognised by the European Commission as having an adequate level of data protection.
The Airport only communicates data abroad when this is absolutely essential to the provision of its services. The airport then contractually stipulates compliance with the provisions on data protection and security of information with the recipients concerned and takes all the necessary measures for the strict observance of the guarantees by third parties.
Furthermore, the Airport reserves the right to transmit your personal data in order to comply with its legal obligations, and in particular if it is compelled to do so by judicial requisition.

ARTICLE 7 - SECURITY MEASURES

In view of technological advances, implementation costs, nature of the data to be protected and the risks to human rights and liberties, the Airport shall implement all appropriate technical and organisational measures to guarantee the confidentiality of the personal data collected and processed and a level of security adapted to the risk.

ARTICLE 8 - COOKIES

Airport websites use cookies to adapt to the preferences of its users and to optimise its web pages. Cookies or other technologies are used in order to allow you to log on to the site and services and to personalise them. These cookies facilitate browsing and improve the usability of websites.
A cookie saves information relating to the user's computer browsing on our site (the pages opened, date and time of browsing, etc.), which the Airport can refer to during you subsequent visits. You may prevent the cookies from being saved by configuring the browser settings as shown below. Access to certain services and sections of the site may, in this case, be modified, or even prevented entirely.

If necessary, the user is informed that access to certain services and sections of the site may, under such circumstances, be altered or even prevented entirely.
The retention period of cookies varies depending on the type of cookie. We mainly use cookies that self-destruct after the connection is terminated. In the event of modification of this Policy by the Airport or if required by law, it will be published on our sites and will be effective as soon as it is published. Therefore, we request you to refer to it during each visit in order to see its latest version permanently available on our websites.
